Privacy Policy — FixMyPDF Mobile App

FixMyPDF ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it when you use the FixMyPDF mobile app on iOS or Android. Last updated: May 1, 2025.

1. Documents & Files

FixMyPDF processes all PDF files entirely on your device using native iOS and Android APIs. Your documents are never uploaded to our servers, never transmitted over the internet, and never stored beyond the app's temporary cache (which is cleared automatically when storage is needed or when you clear the cache manually).

We have no technical ability to access, view, or collect any document you process.

2. Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary to operate the app:

• Crash reports & diagnostics — anonymised stack traces via Expo/React Native built-in reporting. Contains no document content or personal identifiers.
• Anonymous usage analytics — aggregate feature usage counts (e.g. how many times Merge was used). No personal identifiers, no document names.
• Advertising identifiers (Android only) — Google AdMob collects the Google Advertising ID (GAID) and device information to serve contextual banner ads. See Section 5 for details and opt-out instructions.

We do not collect: names, email addresses, account credentials, precise location data, contacts, browsing history, or any content from your documents.

3. Device Permissions

The app requests the following permissions, used only as described:

• Camera — used solely to scan physical documents into PDF files. Photos taken are processed on-device and never transmitted.
• Photo Library (read) — used to import images you explicitly select for PDF conversion.
• Photo Library (write) — used to save processed PDF files to your gallery when you choose "Save to Photos".
• File access — used to open PDFs you select via the Files app or the system share sheet.

Permissions are only requested at the moment they are needed, never in the background.

4. Cookies

The FixMyPDF mobile app does not use cookies. Cookies are a web browser technology and do not apply to native mobile applications.

5. Advertising — Android Only

The Android version of FixMyPDF displays banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's Google Advertising ID (GAID), IP address, and device information to deliver relevant advertisements.

Opt out: You can reset or limit ad personalisation at any time via Settings › Google › Ads on your Android device.

The iOS version does not display ads and does not integrate AdMob. Google's privacy policy governs AdMob data collection: policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Processed files are written to your device's app cache directory. The operating system automatically reclaims this space. You can clear the app cache at any time via your device's Settings › Apps › FixMyPDF › Storage.

Anonymised crash report data is retained for 90 days. Anonymous analytics aggregates are retained for up to 26 months, after which they are automatically deleted.

7. Children's Privacy

FixMyPDF is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us at contact@fixmypdf.in and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or California, you have additional rights:

• Right to access — request a copy of any data we hold about you.
• Right to deletion — request deletion of your personal data.
• Right to object — opt out of data processing based on legitimate interests.
• CCPA — we do not sell personal data to third parties.

9. Data Security

Because all document processing is on-device and we never receive your files, the risk of a server-side data breach exposing your documents is zero. Any analytics or diagnostic data transmitted to third-party services is sent over TLS-encrypted connections.

10. Third-Party Services

The app integrates the following third-party services:

• Expo / React Native — app framework providing crash reporting.
• Google AdMob (Android only) — advertising. See Section 5.

We do not integrate Facebook SDK, analytics SDKs that track users across apps, or any service that receives your document content.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice at next launch. The current version is always accessible from the Settings tab inside the app.
