How to Convert HEIC to PDF on Windows (Free)

Windows does not natively support HEIC files. Convert iPhone HEIC photos to PDF on Windows for free using your browser.

Windows 10 and 11 cannot open HEIC files natively (unless you install the HEVC codec from the Microsoft Store). FixMyPDF converts HEIC to PDF in Chrome on Windows without any codec installation.

Steps on Windows

Open Chrome or Edge on Windows. Go to fixmypdf.in/tools/heic-pdf. Click Choose File and select the HEIC file (transferred from iPhone via cable, AirDrop, iCloud, or email). Click Convert. Download the PDF.

Transferring HEIC Files From iPhone to Windows

USB cable: connect iPhone to PC, open File Explorer → This PC → iPhone → DCIM. Copy HEIC files to a Windows folder. Email: email the photo to yourself and download on Windows. iCloud for Windows: if iCloud is installed and Photos sync is enabled, access photos in File Explorer → iCloud Photos.

Why HEIC Does Not Open on Windows by Default

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) uses H.265 compression. Microsoft charges for the HEVC codec licence. Windows does not include it by default — users must pay £0.79 in the Microsoft Store or get it bundled with certain hardware. FixMyPDF's browser-based conversion bypasses this entirely.

Multiple HEIC Files

To convert multiple HEIC photos to a single PDF: convert each HEIC to PDF separately, then merge using the merge tool.
