How to Add a Watermark to a PDF on iPhone (No App Needed)
Stamp a PDF with CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, or a custom logo on iPhone in Safari — no app download, no Adobe subscription.
iOS has no built-in watermarking feature for PDFs, and most apps with this capability require a subscription. FixMyPDF's watermark tool runs in Safari on iPhone — upload your PDF, type your watermark text, and download the stamped result in under a minute.
Open Safari and Load the Watermark Tool
Open Safari on your iPhone and go to fixmypdf.in/tools/watermark-pdf. Tap "Select PDF" to choose your document from the Files app — iCloud Drive, local storage, or any connected cloud service.
Enter Your Watermark Text
Tap the text input and type your watermark using the iPhone keyboard: "CONFIDENTIAL", "DRAFT", your name, or any custom text. Set the font size using the slider (larger text is more visible; smaller is subtler). Choose a colour — red or grey are most common for document stamps.
Adjust Opacity and Rotation
Use the opacity slider to control how visible the watermark is — 30–40% is typical for a diagonal centre stamp that's clearly visible but doesn't obscure the content. Set rotation to 45° for the classic diagonal stamp look.
Apply and Download
Tap "Add Watermark" — the watermark is applied to all pages and the PDF downloads to your Downloads folder. Open Files → Browse → Downloads to find it. Share via AirDrop, Mail, or any other app.
Adding a Logo Watermark on iPhone
If you have a company logo saved in your Photos or Files app, tap "Image Watermark" instead of text. Select your logo PNG (use a version with transparent background if available). Set opacity to 20–30% and position it in the centre or corner of each page.
Use Case: Watermarking Documents Before Sharing on iPhone
A common iPhone workflow: you receive a PDF, need to stamp it RECEIVED or add your signature watermark before forwarding. Open it from Mail or Messages, go to our tool, add the watermark in Safari, and share the stamped version directly from the Downloads folder.
Other iPhone PDF Tools
After watermarking, you can compress the PDF on iPhone before emailing, or add a password so only authorised recipients can open the watermarked document.
