How to Convert PDF to JPG on Mac (Free, Every Page)

Convert each page of a PDF to a high-quality JPG image on Mac in Safari or Chrome. No Acrobat, no third-party app — free and private.

Mac's Preview can export PDF pages as images — but only one page at a time, with limited quality control. FixMyPDF's PDF to JPG tool converts every page of your PDF to a JPG image simultaneously, lets you choose quality, and packages them for download — all in Safari or Chrome on Mac.

Open the PDF to JPG Tool on Mac

Go to fixmypdf.in/tools/pdf-jpg in Safari, Chrome, or Firefox on your Mac. Upload your PDF by dragging from Finder or clicking "Select PDF". The tool processes all pages locally on your Mac.

Exporting Pages as JPG in Preview — The Limitations

Preview's File → Export... lets you choose JPEG format — but you must do this one page at a time. A 20-page PDF requires 20 separate export operations. Our tool exports all pages simultaneously in one click, then downloads them in a ZIP.

Choose Your Image Quality

Select the JPG quality level: High (best for archiving, largest files), Medium (good quality, moderate file size), or Low (smallest files, suitable for web thumbnails). Higher quality means larger JPG files but more faithful reproduction of the PDF content.

Download All Pages as a ZIP

Click "Convert to JPG" and a ZIP containing all page images downloads to your Downloads folder. The files are named page-1.jpg, page-2.jpg, etc. Double-click the ZIP in Finder to extract. Each file is one PDF page as a JPG.

Use Cases on Mac

Common Mac use cases: extracting product images from a PDF catalogue to use on a website; pulling individual slide images from a PDF presentation to use in Keynote; converting a scanned document PDF into image files for an OCR app; creating thumbnail previews of PDF pages.

Resolution and Retina Display

Our tool renders pages at 150–300 DPI depending on the quality setting selected. At High quality, the JPGs are sharp enough for most web and print uses. On Retina Macs, the rendering is optimised for high-density display quality.

After Converting on Mac

With your PDF pages as JPGs, you can edit them in Preview, Photoshop, or GIMP. If you want to convert them back to PDF later, use our JPG to PDF converter. Or if you only needed one specific page, use our split tool to extract that page as a PDF first.
