How to Rotate a PDF on Windows Permanently (No Acrobat)
Fix sideways or upside-down PDF pages on Windows 10 or 11 in Chrome or Edge — permanently, without Adobe Acrobat.
Windows' Edge PDF viewer lets you rotate your view of a PDF using Ctrl+[ and Ctrl+] — but this doesn't save the rotation to the file. FixMyPDF's rotate tool permanently bakes the rotation into the PDF so it's correct in every viewer, not just your current session.
Why Edge's Rotation Doesn't Stick
When you press Ctrl+[ in Edge to rotate a PDF, it rotates only your current viewing session. Close the tab, reopen the file, and it's back to the original orientation. Email it to someone and they see the original orientation too. Our tool writes the rotation into the PDF file itself.
Open the Rotate Tool in Windows
Go to fixmypdf.in/tools/rotate-pdf in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on your Windows PC. Upload your PDF by clicking "Select PDF" or dragging from File Explorer.
Select Pages and Apply Rotation
Choose to rotate all pages or click individual page thumbnails to select specific ones. Then select 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180°. Click "Rotate PDF" — the corrected file downloads to your Downloads folder.
Verifying the Rotation Is Saved
Open the downloaded file in Edge by double-clicking in File Explorer. If it displays at the correct orientation without you pressing any rotation key, the rotation is permanently saved in the file. Test by also opening in Chrome or another reader for confirmation.
Fixing Scanner Output on Windows
Windows' built-in scan app (Windows Scan from the Microsoft Store) sometimes produces incorrectly oriented PDFs, especially for landscape documents. Our tool lets you select all pages and rotate 90° in one click to fix the entire document.
Rotating Specific Pages in a Mixed-Orientation Document
If you have a report where most pages are portrait but pages 5 and 8 are landscape attachments that got rotated incorrectly, select only those pages in the thumbnail view and apply the rotation. All other pages remain untouched.
After Rotating on Windows
Once rotation is corrected, you can compress the PDF for email or merge it with other documents. Both tools work the same way in your Windows browser.
