How to Merge PDF Files on Windows (Free, No Software)
Combine multiple PDF files on Windows 10 or 11 in Chrome or Edge — no software install, no Adobe Acrobat. Drag to reorder and merge instantly.
Windows doesn't have a built-in PDF merger — unlike Mac's Preview, Windows' Edge PDF viewer is read-only. FixMyPDF's merge tool fills this gap in Chrome or Edge on Windows 10 and 11: add files, drag to reorder, merge, and download — no software required.
Open Chrome or Edge on Windows
Go to fixmypdf.in/tools/merge in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on your Windows PC. All three browsers are fully supported. No extension to install, no ActiveX component, no administrator permission needed.
Add Your PDFs
Click "Add PDF Files" — File Explorer opens for you to select multiple PDFs. Hold Ctrl to select several files at once, or Shift-click to select a range. Alternatively, drag PDFs directly from File Explorer onto the drop zone in the browser.
Drag to Set the Order
After adding files, the tool lists them with drag handles. Click and drag rows to reorder them — the final PDF follows this sequence exactly. If you added files out of order, just drag them into place before merging.
Merge and Save
Click "Merge PDFs" and the combined file downloads to your Windows Downloads folder (C:\Users\YourName\Downloads by default). Open it in Edge's built-in PDF viewer or any reader to confirm the page order is correct.
Windows 11 Built-In PDF Tools — What's Missing
Windows 11's Edge PDF viewer lets you annotate, sign, and highlight PDFs — but it cannot merge multiple files. Microsoft Print to PDF (which creates a PDF from a print dialog) only works for single-document prints. Our browser tool is the simplest way to combine PDFs without any software install on Windows.
Merging PDFs for Office Use on Windows
A common Windows workflow: export multiple Word documents or Excel sheets as PDFs, then merge them into one combined report. Our tool handles this seamlessly — add all the exported PDFs, arrange them in the correct order, and merge. Works with PDFs from any source: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chrome Print to PDF.
Related Windows PDF Tools
After merging, you might want to compress the merged PDF on Windows before emailing, or add a password to protect the combined document. Both tools work the same way in Chrome or Edge.
