How to Merge PDF Files on Chromebook (Free, Browser-Based)

Combine multiple PDFs on a Chromebook in Chrome — no Android apps, no Linux container. Free, private, drag to reorder, download instantly.

Chromebooks don't have a built-in PDF merger, and installing Android apps or Linux tools adds complexity. FixMyPDF's merge tool runs natively in Chrome on any Chromebook — add PDFs from Google Drive or local storage, reorder, and merge in seconds.

Open Chrome and Go to the Merge Tool

On your Chromebook, open Chrome and navigate to fixmypdf.in/tools/merge. Click "Add PDF Files" — Chrome OS's file picker opens, allowing you to select from Downloads, Google Drive, or other connected storage.

Add PDFs from Google Drive

If your PDFs are in Google Drive (common on Chromebooks), the file picker shows Google Drive as an option. Select your PDFs directly from Drive without downloading them to local storage first — they're loaded directly into the browser for merging.

Reorder and Merge

After adding files, drag rows to set the order. Click "Merge PDFs" — the browser assembles all pages into one PDF. On a mid-range Chromebook (Intel Core i3, 8 GB RAM), merging a dozen PDFs takes about 5–10 seconds.

Save to Google Drive After Merging

The merged PDF downloads to your Chromebook's Downloads folder. Open the Files app, find the merged PDF, and drag it to Google Drive for cloud backup and sharing. From Drive, share a link with anyone instead of emailing a large attachment.

No Android App or Linux Required

Android PDF apps on Chromebook (like Adobe Acrobat for Android) run through a compatibility layer that can be slower and less reliable than native Chrome. Our browser tool runs directly in Chrome — faster, more reliable, and works even on Chromebooks without Android app support enabled.

Chromebook School and Work Use Cases

Merging assignment PDFs for submission, combining project documents for a teacher, assembling a presentation from multiple PDF sections — all common Chromebook workflows in schools and offices. Our tool handles these without any IT setup or software installation.

Other Chromebook PDF Tasks

Split PDFs, compress for upload portals, fix rotated scans, sign documents — all free, all in Chrome on Chromebook.
